There are several reasons why a database will not be read. This list contains the most common reasons:
| Cause | Remedy |
| Incorrect settings in shop$config.asp | The file shop$config.asp contains the information that VPASP uses to connect to the database. This information will depend on the location of the database and the type of database that you are using. For more information on how to set up shop$config.asp please see our Quick Setup Guide |
| Database is in incorrect location | The location of the database that is specified in shop$config.asp is not the actual location of the database. Move the database into the directory specified in shop$config.asp. |
| Incorrect permissions in database | The directory that your database resides in does not have the READ permissions set for the IUSR account. Either change the permissions yourself or ask your web hosting company to do this. |
