Translating products, categories, product features, content, news and blogs

Note: This section assumes that you have installed new languages into your shop already. If you just have English, most of these facilities will not be available.

 

The VPCART translation facility allows you to dynamically switch major fields in the products, categories, product features, content, news and blogs table depending upon what language the customer selects.

 

For example,if the customer selects German, then the product description, product name and product extended description will all change into that language. The feature captions and values will also change into German.

 

The translation facility works both with template formatting and with normal VPCART formatting.

 

To enable translation, you need to set the following option in your shop configuration:

 

Xtranslate

Setting this to Yes turns on the translation facility for products, categories, product features, contents, news and blogs.

 

Note: If there is no translated version of the product, category, product features, content, news or blogs record available, the base version (generally, English) will be shown.

 

You can add your product, category, product feature, content, news and blog translations by editing the record you wish to translate and clicking the Add Translation button at the bottom of the screen.

 



                     

With VPCART, you are able to create translation for Meta Tags in Products, Categories, Content, News and Blogs page in the translation page.

 

 

Once you have added your new translation, a new item will be displayed in your original record, so you can easily see which translations are available for it. You can easily edit these listings by clicking the Edit button.
