Product Variants for Apparels

In past versions before VPCart 9.0, product variants for apparels were linked with Product features and then generated by VPCart Google Product Feed.

In VPCart 9.0, we have changed the way for the Google Product Feed generation for apparel products, which is now linked with the new Product Variant feature.

You can read more about our new Product Variant feature at:

To setup Google Product Feed for apparel products, please follow these steps :

1) Go to your VPCart control panel : Store > Products > View/Edit Products

2) Click edit icon for the apparel product (product variant) you wish to edit.

3) In the edit product page, scroll down to bottom and locate “Google Product Feed” click the down arrow:

4) You should see a list of fields required for you to enter for Google Product Feed.

You will find out this is now different to older versions Google Product Feed for a product. Below is the form of our old Google Product Feed in past versions:

In older versions, you will need manually map the variant eg Color, Size etc..and link to Product Features or enter your manual values into the Single Variant.

With VPCart 9.00, you no longer need to manual mapping the variant eg Color, Size etc.. as VPCart will automatically link the existing Product Variant you have setup already.

Example of Product Variant you may have setup for apparel products:

So in VPCart 9.00, you will only need to select Gender, Age Group and pick a Category for Google Product Feed, less work!

With the new Google Product Feed form in VPCart 9.00, simply choose:

- The suitable Gender (Male / Female / Unisex) for your product apparel.

- The suitable Age Group (Kids / Adult) for your product apparel.

- A category on the “Google Product Feed Category”.

Google Product Category is one of the requirements from Google. If your products fall into the Google category, please make sure to assign your product correctly; otherwise Google may remove your feed from their listing.

To select a Google category, simply click the Show all. Then point your mouse pointer to the text box. All Google categories will be displayed so you can just pick one.

This basically lists all the valid Google Product Categories (GPC) which allows the user to easily select a GPC and also do a quick search.

Simply use the scroll bar to move up and down to your suitable Google Category.

You can also type the wanted category in the textbox and click Go. Example below showing that we search for Shoes category:

Once you have picked a Google category, the selected Google category will be automatically populated into the text box of the Google Product Feed Category.

Please note, Google Product Category is not the same as VPCART category. Google Product Category is only used by Google Product Feed.
