Modules Manager

VPCART8.00 comes with a new feature called “Modules Manager”. Admin/merchants can easily maintain the addons/modules or gateways installed in their site without manually checking any installed addons/modules or gateways from an FTP site. These can be done using Modules Manager.

Modules Manager is located inVPCART Control Panel :Modules » Modules Manager.

After installing your V8 site, the Modules Manager will show 0 records in the list.  Then after that, let’s say you purchased the Cart Cookies addon and installed it into your V8 site, then if you go to Modules Manager, it will auto detect and show a new record there.

The same thing will happen if you purchase a new module later on. For example, if you install SEO manager into your site, the Module Manager will list two records like in the example below:

This new feature is very useful for administrators to know what addons /modules have already been installed. Please note that Modules Manager will not detect any language addons installed.

For each of the modules or gateways installed, you have the ability to edit those modules/gateways settings or configurations.

For example, you have an existing Cart Cookies addon installed in your V8, then you can just click the icon edit and you can see all the related settings for the Cart Cookies addon. See screenshot below:

Note:If your VPCART site is from an older version like 7.00 or 6.50 and below, Modules Manager will not initially detect any existing addons or gateways after the upgrade. It can only detect 8.00 modules or gateways.

Please also note, using Modules Manager to activate a payment gateway, VPCART will only allow you to enable a gateway. Let’s say in Modules Manager you have Authorize Net, SagePay and First Data gateway installed. When you try to enable Authorize Net, all the other gateways will automatically turned off.
The limitation for multiple gateways is only in the Modules Manager. If you already have Paypal payments (e.g. Express, Paypal Website payment Pro, Paypal Standard etc..) they will not be affected with this limitation. Means you can still use multiple Paypal payment.
