Using VPCART anti-hacker checks, you can prevent known hackers from shopping in your store. They will be able to browse your shop but will not be able to order.
The hackers table can be set to have a record with email addresses or IP addresses of customers whom you do not wish to allow to shop in your store.
The following Software Configuration options control this feature:
Xhackercheck |
If set to Yes, then the order is checked against the hackers table and hacker countries. If there is a match, the customer cannot complete an order in your store. |
Xhackercountries |
A comma-delimited list of country abbreviations from
which ordering is not allowed (e.g. CN,IT means customers from China and
Italy are banned to purchase items in your site). |
There are two methods of adding a record to the hackers table.
First, you can manually add a record by going to Misc >Edit Tables and selecting the hackers table from the list.
Then click the Add Record button.
You can enter an IP address and/or email address that will be blocked from ordering. The comment and other fields are not used by VPCART and are just for your reference.
If a hacker completes an order in your shop, you can quickly stop them from doing so again by clicking the Add To Hacker link on the View Order page. This will take you to the form shown above, but it will already be populated with the hacker’s details and you can just click Add A Record.
When using this facility, a message will appear when someone who is not allowed to shop tries to make an order. The number at the end of the message tells you the reason why the customer was rejected. So if they come to you and ask, you can look up the reason for the block.
