Currency Converter Module

In VPCart 9.0, we have added new module “Currency Converter”. This feature is available in Modules Manager administration.

This powerful module has the ability to auto update and display currency according to the current exchange rates inside VPCart backend. The source of exchange rates is loading from https://www.exchangerate-api.com.

Great benefits using this Currency Converter:

* Currency exchange rates automatically updated daily.
When your server’s Application Pool is restarted, VPCart will auto run the currency converter. This will update all of your existing currency exchanges to latest rates.

In case you do not yet manual update the currency converter for a day, within 24 hours VPCart will auto run the currency converter for you.

* Support for 110+ world currencies.
With 110+ world currencies supported, this module allow you to enter API Key after you have signed up a Free Plan with https://www.exchangerate-api.com.
The Free Plan from the provider allow merchants to use until 1000 API call/month for free.

How To Use This Module

The Currency Converter settings can be located by going to your administration menu on top: Modules > Modules Manager > locate the module name “currencyconverter” > click Edit button as shown in the screenshot below:

Please take note you do not need to click the Setup icon if you already have this module ready.
Simply click the Edit icon to configure settings.

Below is the explanation of the configurations:

Enable?	Set this to Yes to enable Currency Converter. You will need to sign up an account with https://www.exchangerate-api.com/app/signup before you can use this. The Free Plan from the above provider allow merchants to use until 1000 API call/month for free.
XML Type	The transport method that used for sending and retrieving data with exchange rate server. Default value is auto.
API Key	Enter your API Key here after you have signed up a Free Plan with exchangerate-api.com. How to locate your API Key: 1) Go to site https://www.exchangerate-api.com/app/login 2) Enter your login details 3) After logged in, at the dashboard, you should see your API Key.
Update Currency Page	Click the “Configure” link to manual run the Currency Converter. You should see status message “Currency tables updated successfully.” After clicking it. Note: You do not need to frequently click this “Configure” link to execute the Currency Converter. When your server’s Application Pool is restarted, VPCart will auto run the currency converter. This will update all of your existing currency exchanges to latest rates. In case you do not yet clicking the “Configure” link for a day, within 24 hours VPCart will auto run the currency converter for you.
