Step 1. Login to your VPCart administration and mouse over to top menu: Advanced Settings > Software Configuration.
Step 2. Click Site Details link
Step 3. Fill in the external mail server details as in the description shown against each box.
3a. xemail: Enter the email address of the person to receive order mails.
3b. xemailsmtpport: Please enter your SMTP port. You will need to ask your external mail provider for the correct port and enter here.
3c. xemailsmtpusessl: Set to Yes if your SMTP is using SSL for sending email. You will need to ask your external mail provider for this.
3d. xemailsystem: Please enter your SMTP address URL. It normally will start with mail.example.com. Or can be just an IP. Any valid SMTP address can be entered here. You will need to ask your external mail provider for the correct address and enter here.
3e. xemailtype: please select CDOSYS as the default.
3f. xemailusername: please enter your mail authentication username. You will need to ask your external mail provider for the correct mail authentication username and enter here.
3g. xemailpassword: please enter your mail authentication password. You will need to ask your external mail provider for the correct mail authentication password and enter here.
Step 4. Click Continue
Step 5. You can test if your custom SMTP entered above will be able to send email by using our mail testing page:
5a. For this go to Misc > Diagnostic Manager.
5b. Click the Email tab
It will populate your existing SMTP details. Simply enter the Sender Email, Recipient Email and Email Subject to start a test.
5c. Click Test Email
The message PASS will be shown if the mail sent successfully.
5d. Check the recipient email inbox to see if you got the test email.
