Step 1. Check your web server OS.

*) You cannot install VPCart on a Linux Server.Need an hosting alternative?

Step 2. Check if your web server runs ASP scripts.

If you are setting up VPCart on a Windows Server, you need to ask your web host if they allow you to run ASP scripts.

Step 3. Setting up the database.

If you're going to use AccessDB as your database, you'll need a extra configuration before installing VPCart.

Step 4. Checking if IIS runs on 32-bit.

Make sure your server IIS is allowed to run on 32-bit. Check with your host. Or if you you prefer, you can check it yourself:

    a) Once logged into your server, open IIS Manager. You can do this by clicking your Windows Start button and entering 'inetmgr' into the search box. Then press enter.
    b) Please click the Application Pools in the left panel and in the right panel, in the list of Application Pools, select the application pool you have configured for use with VPCart (Eg. DefaultAppPool)

    d) Expand the General settings, set Enable 32-bit Applications to True, and click OK.

Step 5. SSL Certificate.

If you have a dedicated SSL installed, your sever may have the IIS option "New ID on Secure Connection (keepSessionIdSecure)" enabled.

If this is the case, a separate session ID will be used for the HTTPS page and the cart will not be able to access the old session that hold the content and the cart and thus you will experience "Cart is empty" issue.

To avoid this, you will need to disable the option "New ID on Secure Connection (keepSessionIdSecure)" which can be found on IIS -> ASP -> Session State configuration folder.

Alternatively, you can ask your webhost to disable the option 'New ID on Secure Connection (keepSessionIdSecure)'on IIS.

If you prefer, you can also create a web.config file with the above content:
