How to submit sitemaps to Google and Bing

After successfully creating VPCart sitemap for your domain, the sitemap must be submitted to main search engines manually. This article will provide users with information and steps one should take to submit the sitemap to search engine sites. Submitting to Google and Bing separately is worth it and does not take much time.

Submitting sitemaps to Google.

1. Go to Google Webmaster Tool at : https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/
2. Select your site on your Google Search Console home page.
3. Click Crawl.
4. Click Sitemaps.
5. Click ADD/TEST SITEMAP.
6. Type sitemap.xml. (make sure you already generated sitemap.xml from your VPCart Google Addon and put the sitemap.xml into root of your VPCart site)
7. Click Submit Sitemap.

The sitemap is now successfully submitted.

Submitting sitemaps to Bing.

1. Go to Bing Webmaster Tool at : http://www.bing.com/toolbox/webmaster
2. Enter Your Website URL in Add a site Field.
3. Please also enter Your Website Sitemap eg http://www.yourVPCartsite.com/sitemap.xml. (make sure you already generated sitemap.xml from your VPCart Google Addon and put the sitemap.xml into root of your VPCart site)
4. Click on Add it.
5. Now Verify the Owner Ship of Website.
6. Download the verification File.
7. Upload the verification file into your site FTP at root.
8. After uploading go to your bing webmaster account.
9. Verify your website .
