Enable Incoming and Outgoing Email SSL For Existing VPCart Hosting Customer in MS Outlook and ThunderBird


Please take note that currently our server WEB6.CARTHOSTCLOUD.COM has this feature for Incoming and Outgoing Email SSL.
We are planning to apply for our WEB1, WEB4 and the other servers soon.

For existing VPCart hosting customers that sites are located in WEB6.CARTHOSTCLOUD.COM, if you want to use Incoming and Outgoing Email with SSL, here are the steps:

A. For Microsoft Outlook

For Ms Outlook 2016 and Above:

1. Select File > Account Settings > Account Settings.



2. Select the email account you want to change, then select Repair.



3. Locate the Advanced Options and click the arrow down.



4. Please check the button "Let me repair my account manually" and then click "Repair" button.



5. You will see the Incoming and Outgoing mail settings.

For Incoming mail:
- Change Port to 995
- Check this box "This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL/TLS)"



For Outgoing mail:
- Change Port to 465
- Encryption method : SSL/TLS
- Check "My outgoing (SMTP) server requires authentication" and select "Use same settings as my incoming mail server".

6. Click "Repair" button.

7. You should see the repairing status. Please wait for it.



8. Click "Done" Button.



For Ms Outlook Version Below 2016:

1. Select File > Account Settings > Account Settings.



2. Select the email account you want to edit, then select Change.



3. On the settings page, you can update your incoming and outgoing server names, your email address, your name, your user name, and your password.

Incoming mail server name: web6.carthostcloud.com
Outgoing mail server name: web6.carthostcloud.com
Username: [email protected]
Password: enter your password

4. Click the Outgoing Server tab.

- Check "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication"
- Check "Use same settings as my incoming mail server".

5. Select "Advanced" tab

For Incoming mail:
- Change Port to 995
- Check this box "This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL/TLS)"



For Outgoing mail:
- Change Port to 465
- Encryption method : SSL/TLS
- Check "My outgoing (SMTP) server requires authentication" and select "Use same settings as my incoming mail server".

6. Click "Next" button.

7. Click "Finish" Button.


B. For ThunderBird

  1. Locate your existing email account in Thunderbird, right click on it and select Settings.



  2. Click Server Settings.



  3. Change the following:

    Server Name: web6.carthostcloud.com
    Port: 995
    Connection Security: SSL/TLS
    Authentication method: Normal Password



  4. In the left panel, select "Outgoing Server (SMTP)".



  5. Select your email account and click Edit.



  6. Change the following:

    Server Name: web6.carthostcloud.com
    Port: 465
    Connection Security: SSL/TLS
    Authentication method: Encrypted Password

    Then click OK.



  7. Click OK again.
