Mail server and FTP server address on the new cloud servers

Mail server and FTP server address on the new cloud servers

The new cloud server uses a slightly different address to access the mail server and also the FTP server. On our previous servers, you can use either www.mydomain.com or mydomain.com to access the FTP server and Mail server. However, due to the distributed nature of the cloud servers, access to the FTP and Mail server is now only available via :

  • FTP server address : ftp.mydomain.com
  • Mail server address : mail.mydomain.com
  • Webmail address : http://mail.mydomain.com/MEWebMail

If you've just updated the name servers of the domain to our server, then the address above may not be accessible yet due to the time required for domain propagation. You can, however, access them via the temporary addresses below :

  • FTP server address : ftp.mydomain.com.vpaspwsp.com
  • Mail server address : mail.mydomain.com.vpaspwsp.com
  • Webmail address : http://mail.mydomain.com.vpaspwsp.com/MEWebMail

If you are one of our hosting customers who have been migrated to the new cloud server, please make sure to update your e-mail client and also FTP client to use the new addresses above.

The shopping cart will also need to be updated to use the new mail server address. Once the name server has been updated, the following will need to be updated :

  • 1. Log into the administration page on the new server.
  • 2. Go to Set-Up on VPASP 6.50 or Advanced Setting -> Software Configuration on VPASP 7.00
  • 3. On the search box to the right, search for "mail" (without quotes).
  • 4. Set xemailsystem to the new mail server address.
  • 5. Set xemailtype to CDOSYS

NOTE: To view mail that comes into your old server you can change the incoming mail server name to your old IP address. Once you have downloaded all emails you can change back to the new mail server name.
