How to Configure the Default Document for a website in Plesk control panel

By default the default document for VPCart store is default.asp. However, you can configure the default document to any file that you may wish to display. By following the steps explained below, you can easily configure the default document via Plesk control panel.

1. Login to plesk control panel.

2. If you have multiple domains listed under your plesk account, click on 'Domains' and then select the domain that you want to manage. After that click on 'IIS Settings' button.

3. If there is only one domain under your plesk, Click on 'websites & Domains' tab.

4. Click on 'IIS Settings' button.

5. Under the Common Settings, then in the Default documents section, you choose Enter values. In the Enter Values text box, you can type in what you want to appear as the default document in a new line.

For example:

Index.html

Index.htm

Index.cfm

When browsers do not provide the name of a document within your site, IIS will look for the specified default documents and serve the first one found. If index.html is listed first it will be the default document for your website.

If you do not specify the default documents, but turn on the Directory browsing, then the directory listing will be displayed in browsers instead of the index page.

6. Once you insert the document name, click 'Apply' then 'OK' button at the bottom of the page.
